I am an independent documentary DP/Producer/Editor based out of New York City, specializing in cinema verite storytelling.
For over three years, I’ve been shooting and editing documentary programming for a number of broadcast, online and non-profit organizations. Some of these include The Travel Channel, National Geographic, the Downtown Community Television Center, The March of Dimes and Working America. Most recently, I was the cinematographer for a feature length documentary about the Camino de Santiago, a 500 mile pilgrimage through the north of Spain.
I’ve been trained in camera operation, lighting and sound simultaneously and am comfortable juggling many tasks and obstacles as they arise. I’m familiar with many types of production equipment including the Panasonic Varicam and several other HD cameras. I offer my own Sony EX3 camera package and have a full list of gear here.
Since 2005, I’ve earned a comprehensive understanding of several post workflows as an editor using both Final Cut Pro and Avid software on Mac and PC platforms. This foundation has made me extremely story-conscious in the field and continues to train my brain to shoot what the editor will want to use. I’m well versed in tapeless field production and understand how to both keep media safe and download footage efficiently.
I graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications and owe much of my knowledge to the excellent professors at Syracuse University. Since then, I’ve been an emerging producer eager to collaborate with established professionals to create compelling stories.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my portfolio.
Let's hope it gets good ones soon!
